WHAT IS THE 'GOODLIFE'?
Dr. Latimer has always used a strengths-based approach in working with all clients - coaching or counseling and/or team consultation. She believes that all clients have the ability and right to be well and to achieve the best version of themselves possible. Science now backs the art of therapy showing the 'Goodlife' is a real thing! We want to help you access that within yourself! We help you to work on and through the 3 phases of wellness coined by Dr. Martin Seligman !
* "the pleasant life" - this is general increases in positive feelings! It's usually what people think they are looking for in therapy and that can absolutely happen! But, it's also not always easily changeable and habituates over time sot he effects are not long-lasting. BUT the others are!
* the "good life" - The good life is when we are in the most attuned "flow" state in ourselves - we are so present that we are one with the moment - it requires authenticity and letting go - and the result is an incredible attunement to ourselves, our families, our everyday moments. Therapy and coaching can influence this tremendously and lead to wonderful things in one's life!
* "meaningful life" - this is true transformation and attaining our meaning in life. We begin to transform our traumas and regrets into a better version of who we ever would have been without them - it's the idea of post-traumatic growth and it is possible! So often people fear they will be negatively defined by their traumas and no one teaches us how to integrate our most challenging experiences into who we were meant to be.
Bottom line - together we will partner to know find out just how amazing you've always been!

DO I NEED COUNSELING? COACHING? OR CONSULTATION?
Counseling. If you are struggling with an issue that is impacting the quality of your life and you need assistance moving through these issues, then counseling is the right approach for you. Counseling allows us to work by looking at the past, present and future. We might look into resolving past issues and considering how they are impacting your present life. We might need to heal past wounds or current troubles that are hindering you and help you attain a goodlife in the future that is stable and meaningful. Dr. Latimer's extensive work history in a variety of environments (eg., high acuity mental health, eating disorders at all levels of care [inpatient, PHP, IOP, OP], university counseling centers, etc) makes her very comfortable in working with a variety of issues that require counseling services, including but not limited to:
Coaching. Coaching has some similarities to counseling but also has some very distinct differences. Coaching focuses mainly on the present moment and how to get from your already goodlife to your best life in the future! We don't focus too much on healing the past - that is where counseling is more helpful! A coaching client is someone who is doing really well already in their life and they are looking to take things to the next level. Often, executives and professionals use this service to help them gain additional leadership coaching to take their team to the next level. Dr. Latimer fully understands when coaching may be a better fit for you, as she is the co-founder of an ICF-accredited coach training program through the Conscious Coaching Collective. The Hello Goodlife team is happy to guide you toward the best program for you, whether it be counseling or coaching-based so don't worry if you aren't sure what you need!
Consultation. Occasionally, we might struggle with figuring out how to take our whole company to the next level, whether it be in efficiency, effectiveness, or overall team dynamics. Dr. Latimer has a history of increasing efficiency and effectiveness outcomes in several centers and she can help you too! This requires ample time, site visit, time with employees, etc. Contact our team for additional information on this process!
