This type of mentality can lead to dangerous outcomes, including riots and other harmful behaviors. In emotional contagion, the person loses sight of their own thoughts and feelings and goes along with the experience of the crowd. This type of phenomenon has been known to psychologists and sociologists for decades, and sociologists generally study this given that they focus on group interactions.
How can you avoid 'emotional contagion'?
